What does the term Robotic Process Automation (RPA) mean?
Through the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA), standardized and frequently recurring activities in the context of the preparation of financial statements can be automated with the help of software bots. They become little "helpers" in the places you specify, e.g. B. when scanning and posting incoming invoices or when creating final reports.
Thus, the technology makes it possible to configure a computer software or robot that imitates the action of a human. RPA robots work in the same way as human workers and use the same user interface to collect or manipulate data. In this way, RPA can be implemented without the need for complex system integration and the IT architecture already in place in the company is not affected. What are the areas of use and application of Robotic Process Automation?
Administrative activities in the finance department are particularly suitable for the use of RPA. Example processes are the creation of monthly and annual financial statements or the creation and aggregation of reports. Typical application scenarios are filling out input masks, extracting data or loading data into other systems. UiPath is able to retrieve data from different applications (SAP system, Excel, e-mail) via screen and web scraping and to process this data further using algorithms and rules, analyze it and transfer it to the appropriate target system.
