With the third quarter of 2024, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is once again setting standards in the world of data analysis and business planning. The latest update brings with it a multitude of exciting innovations and enhancements that not only further increase user-friendliness but also analytical performance. In this article, we would like to give you an overview of the most important new features and improvements introduced with the Q3 update.
Here is an overview of the most important innovations:
Data Analyzer – share insights within the tool
You can now share an insight directly in the Data Analyzer using the Share Insight feature in the new Share toolbar button. In the Share Insight dialog, you can add the users or teams you want to share the insight with, set the access type, and decide whether new recipients should receive an email.

Data Analyzer – Shortcut – Link
If you want to capture the current state of your data view in Data Analyzer without saving it, you can now create a shortcut link using the "Create Shortcut Link" function in the new "Share" button in the toolbar. The generated shortcut link can be copied to the clipboard and pasted into an email or opened in a new tab, for example. A cleanup task is scheduled in the System Configuration area to delete shortcut links at regular intervals. As an administrator, you can reconfigure the default period.

Data Analyzer - Enhancements to the context menu in the Builder panel / Available objects list
Several improvements have been added to Data Analyzer to optimize user workflow:

Advanced filtering options for members (filter with swap/remove; contextual highlighting for tuple filters)
The table context menu has been extended with additional filter options:

In the Cross Model Copy Step, you can now select the property that will be used for mapping identical names. This feature allows the user to automatically map dimensions by maintaining an additional property in the Modeler.

Advanced Formulas – Support for the “any” hierarchy parameter
When creating Advanced formulas Users can now include a data action parameter that has a hierarchy of type “ANY” without requiring a specific hierarchy for the dimension the parameter is set to. CONFIG.HIERARCHY This provides more flexibility by allowing the selection of the hierarchy to use when performing the data action with the advanced formulas. Note that a parameter of a date dimension with the hierarchy "Any" cannot be included.
