SAP S/4HANA FOR Group Reporting
SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting is a composite name to emphasize a group accounting software integrated in SAP S/4HANA.
Definition: SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting
SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting is a consolidation solution integrated into SAP S/4HANA that closely brings together the financial accounting and consolidation processes. This software makes it possible to adapt, consolidate and analyze operational financial statements in a system environment - accelerated, in real time, transparently. Both actual and planned data can be processed continuously.
How does SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting work?
A key difference to other SAP consolidation solutions is that a cloud application is available, in addition to an on-premise and a hybrid application.
SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting now bundles all the advantages of SAP's historically grown tools in a central solution. The consolidation tool is also much more deeply integrated into S/4HANA than its predecessors. This brings operational accounting and consolidation even closer together.
Technically, this is solved using the so-called Universal Journal and the tables for the operational actual financial statements of individual companies (ACDOCA) and planning data (ACDOCP). This data is also exchanged with the database table ACDOCU, in which the consolidation data is located. This makes it possible, among other things, to directly access the original documents for bookings (drill-through reporting). This close interaction is also used to coordinate relationships between companies, so-called intercompany issues.
Using the integrated Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation (ICMR) solution, individual documents are compared and can be eliminated at group level. And at any time, not just on the reporting dates.
After the data has been released for processing in S/4HANA Group Reporting, it is checked in individual process steps and can be adjusted and consolidated for analysis based on operational data in real time. Embedded reports are available for analyzes (Embedded Analytics and Review Booklet).
To further accelerate and optimize the closing process, other SAP solutions can be used using predefined interfaces, such as the Group Reporting Data Collection (GRDC) and the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
What advantages does SAP Group Reporting offer me?
With SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting, SAP is bringing an innovative solution to the market for more agile, automatic and valid preparation of consolidated financial statements. Through group reporting, SAP no longer interprets the consolidated financial statements as an additional separate process, but rather as a sub-process of the entire financial statements (record-to-report). It also replaces older consolidation tools as part of the transition to SAP S/4HANA.
